My Cakes!!

OK so I've realized that I LOVE to make theme cakes!! They are so much fun and I love hearing people tell me how great they came out! I'm not a professional at all, but I think I'm getting better with every cake I make. I recently decided I that I want to start selling them to make a little extra cash... It's something I really enjoy doing and if I can make a little money doing something I enjoy then yay for me! lol

So here are the cakes I have made so far...

This was my first cake... My daughters 1st birthday. It was duckie themed and it's supposed to be duckies in a bathtub... Looks pretty retarded, I know. LOL! It was probably one of the most irritating ones I've made just because it was my first cake and I was in a rush to get it done... I made it the day of my daughters birthday... like an hour before it started, while also trying to finish up the food and make sure I had everything to bring over to the hall where the party was. Oh and trying to get me and my little lady dressed and ready...

So yea.... This is the result of a cake being rushed and finished like 5 minutes before running out the door...
(Duckie Cake)
It tasted yummy though.... ha ha...

On to my second cake!!

This one I made for my Niece's 1st birthday. My sister wanted a Pirate theme and so I thought, well then we obviously need a treasure chest cake! This one was really fun and I think is when I stared to really enjoy decorating! I was pretty happy with how it came out! We got the "booty" from the dollar store. The sand is smashed up vanilla wafers. It was a sheet cake (11x15) that I just cut in half. The only thing that bugged me was the lining around the cake was uneven and kind of crappy looking. I should of put the frosting back into the fridge for a bit before piping it on...
(Pirate chest cake)

This was for my daughters second birthday! I decided to try whipped cream icing and it came out SO yummy!! I used the little tubes of gel icing for the black, orange and red on the cake. Oh and blue for his eyes too! She was very excited when she saw her cake!
(Spongebob Cake)

Here is my Niece's second birthday! I used a glass bowl to bake the cake for the head and a cupcake cut in half for her ears. The nose is chocolate chips, and the banana's are just little candies. I know really need to work on making lines and things... I guess I need to learn to steady my hand better!
(Monkey Cake)

My daughter wanted a Tinkerbell birthday so I made a cake with Tink and her fairy friends! I got the fairies from the Disney Store and the Toadstools are made from Gum Paste. The flowers and grass I got from Wal-mart. I wish I had thought of coconut (like on my next cake) for the grass on this cake.... It just looked a little off and I think the coconut grass would of completed it and made it look more finished.
(Tinkerbell cake)

This is my most recent cake. I made it for a friend for her fathers birthday. The Harley was just a toy, and the Harley sign, I cut from the box. The fence is made from lolly pop sticks that I cut and colored with non toxic crayons, and glued together. The grass is coconut and the dirt is a crushed up graham cracker. The rocks are made from Gum Paste that I colored with black food coloring... I didn't mix it all the way in so that the rocks would have a swirly more realistic look.
I wish I had piped some icing onto the bottom of the cake to make it look more finished...
(Harley Davidson Cake)
Well that's it for now!! I have more birthday's coming up so there will be more cakes soon!!

Memories...

You know how you can hear a song or a certain sound, or smell a smell that reminds you of something from your childhood? The other day we were on our way up to the lake and we stopped at a gas station, and while Geoff was filling up I heard "Tie a Yellow Ribbon..." It reminded me of square dancing in gym class in the 4th grade!
I remember everyone always complaining.... Uuhgg we have to do stupid square dancing today!! I would complain right along with them but, ... I secretly liked it! It was better than playing dodge ball or running laps around the gym, or any other stupid crap they made us do. It really was kind of fun! I know the other kids had fun too, as much as they complained about it... AND I got to dance with the boy I had a crush on... Seth Something.

OK that's it! Just a little memory blurb! ;-)

Do Do Dooo Lookin' out my backdoor...

Yes that's my back yard...

OK so I pretty much hate winter.... Don't get me wrong, the snow is pretty... and it's nice to have it on the ground for Christmas... but I hate being cold! I hate walking through slushy parking lots, I hate having to bundle up, I hate having my feet be cold and wet... it SUCKS! I'm a tank top and jeans, bare foot kind of girl... so winter is just really annoying. I still wear tank tops, pretty much all year round, but of course when I go out I have to throw on a hoodie or a stupid jacket. Oh and socks! I hate to wear socks.... If I lived in Florida... Oh I would love that! I would be barefoot or have flip flops on all the time! OK done with my "I hate Winter" rant... :D
Now on to happy stuff!!

I can't believe Christmas will be here in just 2 days!!! It came so quick! We are going up to the lake for Christmas Eve and I can't wait!! I can't wait to put out cookies and milk for Santa and some carrots for the Reindeer! I can't wait for Caidy to wake up on Christmas morning to find out that Santa put a stocking full of goodies on her bed! I can't wait to watch her and Kaylee (my niece) tear into their gifts!!! This is going to be such an awesome Christmas!!

Dreams...

I've been wanting to write down certain or weird dreams I have for a while, but I always forget and 1 I have shitty handwriting and B I hate to actually write things... lol Anyway sometimes I remember a few dreams from one night... Like little mini movies.
I have A LOT of very strange, funny, random dreams... SO here's what happened in dreamland last night!

First one...
My husband got up for work and then kept coming back into the room to tell/show me things. *** He works Tuesday- Saturday and gets up at 5am except for Tuesdays and Thursdays when he gets up at 4am** So he keeps coming in and telling me that he's doing dishes, or he's doing something on the computer.... Then I hear a LOUD noise.. I'm like what in the fuck is he doing out there now?! He comes in and tells me that he's ripping out the baseboards... So I said WTF?! Don't you have to go to work?? He tells me that he still has a few minutes before he has to leave. I sit up and say WHY are you doing this now?? I have kids coming in here at 7:30 and the baseboards are all ripped off the walls and there's shit everywhere! Then he just says "Ooh! I need to go to work now!" Then he leaves....
That dream ends.... lol

Next dream...
I'm walking around in my back yard... but it's not my back yard. I'm holding Gavin... then all of a sudden something starts moving in a bush near me. I step back a little and watch. Out pops a little yellow duck! *** For those of you that don't know I LOVE ducks!*** So it waddles up to us and I back away a little just because I don't know how it's going to act.... Then IT GROWLS at me!! So I'm like shhhiiit! What kind of creepy ass duck is this?! Just as I'm about to turn around and get away from it, it jumps up, lands on my chest and knocks me down. I tried to get up but I couldn't... So I'm laying there, holding Gavin and there's this little duck sitting on my chest... Then it just looks at me and I swear it looked like it smiled, then it hops off and happily quacks around in the yard. So I'm like ooookkkk... and I get up and slowly back way. It follows me and ends up coming into my house. Geoff looks at it and says "You should probably put some papers down in case he has to crap or something." *** This would not be a normal response from him... He would of been like WTF? We're not keeping a duck! LOL** So the duck moves in and is like my little shadow... It follows me all around and never lets me out of it's sight! Even in the shower! (Can you imagine taking a shower with a friggin duck?! LOL) So that was the end of that one....

The last dream I remember was just a quick little thing about me walking down to the store with my dad**** My moms house has a store like a 5 minute walk from the house, it has a little garage next to it where they fix cars*** When we get to the store my dad tells me to go ahead and wait at the store. So I go, and I see in the reflection in the door at the store, that he's talking to a few guys at the garage and he hands them some money and they hand him little rolled up pieces of paper..... So then we go into the store buy some shit and walk out. We're walking away and he says "What are you wearing? You smell like flowers..." I look at him and just say "Yea, well you smell like pot!" Then people start laughing... o_O like a laugh track on a TV show. My dad puts his arm around my shoulder, laughs a little and says "Yea..." Then the dream like fades out...

So... Theres a few of my weird ass dreams....

The Christmas Spirit...

You know that warm fuzzy feeling you get around Christmas. All happy and giddy... that "Magical" feeling?... Well I lost that a few years ago... I don't know why, I wasn't depressed or anything, but every year when Christmas rolled around that feeling just wasn't there. Even when we had Caidy's first Christmas... I thought for sure I'd get the warm fuzzy's that year... Nope, nothing.... Not that I turned into a grump or anything, I just didn't feel any different than any other time of the year.

This year though, I don't know if it's the new house, or Caidy being old enough to understand Santa, or the new lil man... Maybe it's all of it together, but I am SO excited about it this year! Putting up the decorations, I felt like a kid! I got so excited when I took out the cookie plate and cup for Santa. We'll actually be able to put cookies out for Santa this year! I mean I guess we could of last year, but Caidy was still pretty young and it wouldn't of really meant anything. I can't wait to wake up Christmas morning and watch Caidy open her presents... I just think it will be different this year because she's older and will be excited for Santa! I'm going to leave her stocking on her bed after she falls asleep on Christmas eve... I wonder if she'll notice it.
***aww Gavin just spit up on me... How cute...LOL. Ha ha And now Caidy just brought me a delicious cup of "cookie tea" OMG I love them so much.... ***
OK time to make dinner! My little Buglet of course will be at my side standing on her potty "helping" I really should get her a little step stool....

Making Cookies!

Me and the Buglet made some cookies last week! She had so much fun! Here are the steps to make some Yummilicious cookies!

First get all of your ingredients together:
Then mix all of the dry stuff together...

Then you put the brown sugar, and the white sugar and the butter in another bowl...
Then you should taste the sugar to make sure it's yummy!
Then if it's yummy enough, mix it!
Then you add the eggs...
Now add the flour and stuff to the sugar and stuff!

Yum! Chocolate Chips!!!!

Then you put them on a cookie sheet...
Time to put them in the oven!

Are they done yet?!?!

Yay!!!! They're done!
Mmmm...
